Automatic Transmission Repair in Marietta & East Cobb, GA
If your car hesitates, slips between shifts, jerks, or engages late in drive or reverse, the fix is often a targeted repair — fluid, a solenoid, a valve body, a torque converter — not a full rebuild. We diagnose automatic transmissions with a free road test, computer scan, and lift inspection, then repair only what's actually broken. Rebuilds, when truly needed, are built in house and backed 2 years / 24,000 miles.

Symptoms we hear every day
More symptoms, explained plainly, on the transmission warning signs guide.
Targeted repairs first. Rebuild last.
A lot of people arrive with a code reader result and a Google diagnosis. Sometimes it's right; often it isn't. Our process starts with the least expensive possibilities and works up:
That ladder is why most vehicles with a transmission warning light leave here without a rebuild — and why the ones that do need one get a transmission built for their car, not an assembly-line unit.
"I was told by another mechanic my truck needed a new transmission. Guardian was able to pinpoint the issue — which was not a new transmission — and saved me thousands. Good honest people!"

A check engine light can block your tag renewal.
Transmission codes — converter shudder is the common one — light the check engine light, and a lit light is an automatic Georgia emissions failure in Cobb, Cherokee, and Fulton counties. If you failed emissions with a powertrain code, read this before paying for parts-cannon repairs.
Common questions
Can I keep driving it while it slips?
Every mile of slipping adds heat and wear, and heat is the biggest killer of transmissions. A $300 problem can become a $4,000 problem in a few weeks of "it still drives." If it's slipping, call us before you commit to more miles.
My code reader says it needs a solenoid. Can you just replace that?
Maybe — and if that's really the fix, that's all we'll sell you. But a code tells you what the computer saw, not why. We road-test and scan first, free, so you're paying to fix the cause rather than the symptom.
Automatic vs. CVT — which page do I need?
If your car is a Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Toyota, or Mitsubishi with seamless "gearless" acceleration, it may be a CVT — see CVT repair. Not sure? It doesn't matter: the free initial inspection is the same either way.
Slipping, jerking, or hesitating?
Drop it off. We'll drive it, scan it, and lift it for free — then tell you what it needs, and what it doesn't.
