Expert Transmission Repair in Marietta, GA
Our family-owned and operated shop builds your transmission by hand, right here in East Cobb — never an assembly-line unit. We drive it, scan it, and put it on the lift for free. The number we quote after we look at it is the number you pay, backed 2 years / 24,000 miles.
Not sure it's the transmission? Here's what to look for.
Slipping or flaring
The engine revs, then the car catches up a beat later. Between shifts, RPMs jump and settle back down.
Red fluid on the driveway
Transmission fluid is red. Red puddles under the car mean a leak worth checking before it becomes a rebuild.
Won't go into gear
No reverse, no forward, or the transmission drops out of gear on its own. Don't keep driving it — call us first.
Check engine light + failed emissions
A transmission code can fail your Georgia emissions test and block your tag renewal. We find the real cause.

The people who build your transmission are the people you talk to.
No salespeople. Two technicians.
There's no sales desk here. When you call, you talk directly to the technicians who do the work — a family-owned and operated shop.
Our quote is our quote.
We won't guess a price over the phone, because a guess isn't a price. After we look at it, the number we give you is the number you pay — even if we priced it wrong.
We'll talk you out of a rebuild if you don't need one.
Our diagnostic process starts cheap and easy and works up from there. Most cars with a transmission warning light don't need a full rebuild.
Come see for yourself.
Our shop has big windows for a reason. Watch the work, ask questions, and take your old parts home when we're done.
Three steps. No guesswork.
Drop it off
Schedule a drop-off time or just come by. Tell us what the car is doing — in your own words. If it can't be driven, have it towed to us; call and we'll talk you through it.
We drive it, scan it, and lift it — free
A real road test, a computer scan, and a lift inspection, at no charge. Then we call you with what we found and a real number — not a guess.
We fix only what's broken
We repair what needs repairing, road-test it again, and back the work. Every rebuild carries a 2-year / 24,000-mile warranty.
Told you need a new transmission? Maybe you don't.
When other repair shops hit a transmission problem they can't solve, they send the vehicle to us. And when a dealer or another shop quotes you a full replacement, it's worth a second look — because in our experience, many of those cars need a much smaller repair.
The second look costs you nothing. If it really is the transmission, we'll show you exactly what we found. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.
Bring us your quote →IIsmail P."I was told by another mechanic my truck needed a new transmission. Guardian was able to pinpoint the issue — which was not a new transmission — and saved me thousands. Good honest people!"
KKyle S."A transmission shop with a diagnostic process that starts cheap and easy and works up from there until the problem is fixed — instead of jumping straight to a rebuild."
Conveniently located in East Cobb — close to the whole north metro
We have one shop, on Post Oak Tritt Road in East Cobb, and drivers come to us from all over Cobb, Cherokee, and North Fulton counties. Here's how far you are from an honest answer:
Questions we answer every day
If you don't see your question here, call us. You'll get a technician, not a phone tree.
How much does a transmission rebuild cost?
We won't quote a transmission over the phone, because we won't guess. Bring it in for a free initial inspection — a road test, a computer scan, and a lift inspection — and you'll get a real number we stand behind. If we quote it wrong, that's on us, not you. Most rebuilds in this area run in the low-to-mid thousands, and many cars turn out to need a much smaller repair.
Is the initial inspection really free?
Yes. We road-test the vehicle, scan the computer, and inspect it on the lift at no charge — usually about two hours of our time. Past customers get free follow-up checks, too.
What's the difference between your rebuild and a remanufactured transmission?
A remanufactured unit is built on an assembly line, the same way every time, with mixed-and-matched parts. We take your transmission completely apart, inspect every component, and rebuild it by hand for your specific vehicle — correcting the known weak points while we're in there. One's custom. One's done on an assembly line.
Do I need an appointment?
No — but scheduling a drop-off helps us plan for you. Note that it's a drop-off, not a while-you-wait appointment: diagnosis takes real time, and we'd rather do it right than rush it while you sit in the lobby.
What if I can't pick up my car before 4:30?
We handle this every week. Settle your invoice with us by phone, and we'll leave your keys wherever you want them. Your car is ready when you are.
Can a transmission problem make me fail Georgia emissions?
Yes. A transmission fault — torque converter shudder is a common one — turns on the check engine light, and a lit check engine light is an automatic emissions failure in Cobb, Cherokee, and Fulton counties. That blocks your tag renewal. We find and fix the actual cause. Read more about emissions and your transmission.
