Axle & CV Joint Replacement in Marietta & East Cobb, GA

Clicking or popping when you turn, grease slung on the inside of a tire, or a clunk when you start from a stop are the classic signs of a worn CV joint. Here's the honest part most people don't know: you don't really "repair" a CV joint — when one wears out, the right fix is replacing the axle it lives on. We replace axles and drive shafts, service U-joints and CV boots, and straighten drive shafts, with a free inspection first.

The tell-tale signs

Is it an axle? Check for these.

Clicking or popping in turns — the outer CV joint, loudest in tight, slow turns like a parking lot.
Grease on the inside of a tire or wheel — a torn CV boot has been slinging its grease out. Caught now, it's a boot-and-axle decision; ignored, the joint runs dry and fails.
Clunk when starting from a stop — worn inner joint or U-joint taking up slack. (A clunk on and off the throttle at speed can also be the differential.)
Vibration that builds with speed — a bent or out-of-balance drive shaft, or a failing inner CV joint. The road test tells them apart from a tire problem before you buy anything.

What we replace and service

CV axle replacement — complete axle assemblies with parts we pick ourselves, not the cheapest reman axle on the shelf.
CV boots — when a boot is torn but the joint is still healthy, a boot alone can be the honest answer.
U-joints — the truck-side equivalent, replaced before they leave you with a drive shaft on the pavement.
Drive shafts — replacement and straightening for vibration at speed.
Axle seals — the leak that looks like a transmission problem and usually isn't.

Axle work is one of the quicker jobs we do — often same-day once parts are in hand — and one where a clicking noise that sounds scary is usually a few hundred dollars, not thousands. That's worth knowing before someone talks you into more.

Clicking when you turn?

It's probably an axle, and probably smaller than you fear. Free inspection, real number, done right.
