Transfer Case Repair in Marietta & East Cobb, GA

The transfer case is the gearbox that splits power between the front and rear axles on 4WD and AWD trucks and SUVs. When yours won't shift into or out of four-wheel drive, grinds between drive modes, sticks in one setting, or leaks, we repair and rebuild it in house — chains, bearings, shift forks, encoder motors, and seals — with the same free initial inspection and 2-year / 24,000-mile rebuild warranty as everything else we do.

4WD symptoms

When the transfer case is the problem

Won't go into (or out of) 4WD — shift fork, chain, or on newer trucks the electric encoder motor. Sometimes it's a $200 motor, not the case.
Grinding when changing drive modes — worn engagement teeth or a stretched chain letting things slip past each other.
Stuck in one setting — don't force it. Driving a part-time 4WD system locked in on dry pavement damages the case and the axles.
Fluid leaking under the middle of the truck — output shaft seals. A transfer case that runs dry howls, then fails.
Bind or hop in tight turns — on AWD vehicles, often the clutch pack in the case rather than the differentials.
Truck country

We see a lot of these — on purpose.

East Cobb and Cherokee County run on pickups and 4WD SUVs — F-150s and Super Dutys, Rams, Silverados, Tahoes, 4Runners — trucks that tow boats to Allatoona, haul for work, and get kept rather than traded. Transfer case work is a steady part of our week, including work-truck fleets and trucks sent to us by other repair shops.

Like everything here, the job starts with the free initial inspection: we drive it, engage every mode, scan it, and put it on the lift. If it's an encoder motor or a seal, that's the quote. If the case needs to come apart, we rebuild it on our bench — chain, bearings, forks, and seals — and road-test it before you get it back.

Rear-end noise instead of engagement trouble? That's the differential. Clicking in tight turns up front? Start with axles & CV joints.

4WD not cooperating?

Drop it off before you force it. Free initial inspection, honest answer, and a rebuild backed 2 years / 24,000 miles if it comes to that.
